In Israel there are thousands of
archaeological sites, bearing witness
to the country’s rich cultural past.
This heritage is a physical resource
that is vulnerable and perishable and
constantly threatened by nature and man.
The Conservation Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority
is charged with safeguarding this unique
heritage and presenting it to the public at large,
for the sake of future generations.
